Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Haven't eaten much Caribbean food that's not Jamaican--we admit to haven stolen roti, pretty much, but the rest is all our own, honest. The idea of tamarind is interesting. We don't cook with it that much, although I could eat it all day in tamarind balls. Perhaps it's best had with sugar and not with chickpeas (ick).

Perkins--watching Criminal Minds tonight? Looks like eye squick. I'm going to have to not watch those precise bits.

Can I ask a dumb baseball question? Why is the bullpen not connected to the regular dugout? I would think the pitchers would feel sort of lonely/left out of the team. Because they sit with the rest of the team when they are pitching, right?

Had dinner with aurelia, and it was good.

My new winter boots arrived today, and dude, they are totally hardcore!

Because books.

Why is the bullpen not connected to the regular dugout?

It's because they need enough room for an actual pitching situation, a mound and a catcher, etc.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Why is the bullpen not connected to the regular dugout? I would think the pitchers would feel sort of lonely/left out of the team. Because they sit with the rest of the team when they are pitching, right?

Traditionally the bullpen area where they warm up is built into the stadium so that it's further away from the dugout. And so the pitchers in the bullpen need to be close to those pitching rubbers and bases to get warm quickly.

As a matter of culture, bullpen pitchers prefer to be alone. They tend to be a bit squirrely as a bunch, and their jobs are usually high pressure so they have their own little sub-culture within baseball. Lots of practical jokes and stuff to keep them distracted and loose, whereas the dugout tends to focused and intense.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

I keep seeing this commercial. It's a Levi's commercial, with images of attractive young people running around and doing stuff outside, while a narrator recites, "Pioneers! O Pioneers!" I do not understand.

Interesting. I never watch baseball (don't like cats either) but Im enjoying the WS.

Eta: oh, maybe I can get Suzi to go to a game with me next spring. That would be worth it.

Going to a baseball game is always fun, Stephanie.

Also, this is getting ugly. Wow.
