Calli: My people have a saying. A man who trusts can never be betrayed, only mistaken.Avon: Life expectancy among your people must be extremely short.

We have a lot of Taco Del Mar's locally. We also have some chains that pretend to be real Mexican resterauntes but are so Waspified and awful that I prefer Taco Bell. We have two really good Mexican places both about 45 minutes drive deep into rural areas with large Latino populations. We also have something called the Quality Burrito downtown, which is not authentic, but is really good. (Think of what a first rate cook who likes spicy food would produce if she read about Mexican Food but never actually tasted any.)

Ann, that's a ferret.

I enjoy Taco Bell now and then because there are healthier options than you find at most fast food places. (I think the bean burrito is the purest essence of the place, but not strongly enough to get into a fight over it.)

Our wings are not tired.

Believe it or not, some of the best Mexican I ever had was in Troy, North Carolina. For realz.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

I worked at Taco Bell.

And yet, I still occasionally eat there.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

(I think the bean burrito is the purest essence of the place, but not strongly enough to get into a fight over it.)

As someone who does not eat beef, I agree. At some point earlier this year, I think, I had the strongest craving for that fucking bean burrito because I hadn't had it in years.

I love the Taco Bueno bean burrito, though, and it is a requirement that I have one whenever I go home. The salsa really makes it, however; it's not the same with Taco Bell hot sauce.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

The butter chicken isn't as good as the masalas, I thought, though still pretty okay for a cheap frozen lunch.

Good to know!

I loves meat and all, but I will never eat anything called "meat muffins."

I was going to say, What if I made the meat loaf in muffin tins instead, but then I realized it wouldn't actually be a loaf. It would be meat muffins!

If someone made single serving meat loaf and called it a meat muffin I would probably eat it. I like meat loaf, but it's not something to make when you're cooking just for yourself.

This is my plan.

THANK you, Jessica!

ND, are there still any Naugles? Del Tacos?

Naugles was purchased by Del Taco back in the late 80's I believe. Del Taco does still exist, there's one about a mile from me.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

for a mind-controlled groin-kicking.

I thought it was more of a cock punch.

I, like most Californians and southwesterners I guess, can only scratch my head at the Taco Bell /Chipotle discussion.

I've had Taco Bell, and will grab one if I want 89 cents of greasy, salty protein. But when I want Mexican food I go to a tacqueria.

And...now I do want some Mexican food.

Our wings are not tired.

Sigh. I "grew up" on Naugles when I lived in Bloomington/Fontana. Thanks for the update.

I would solve this problem by buying a meatloaf sandwich. Mmmm, there's a really good one you can get at the Ferry Building slathered in mushroom gravy.
