Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

Wow. 38% reporting in Maine, it's 50-50, with 112,112 for Yes and 112,376 for No.

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

Plus now we know what it looks like when something gets devoured starting with its bottom.

Not that I was planning to click the link anyway, but that definitely did it.

I did my duty in our little measly local election. I checked the local papers first for recommendations on the measly handful of issues at stake, and the SF Chron comment threadsters, God love 'em, were all over the Chron's endorsements like white on rice, whining about how typical it was that the Chron wouldn't endorse a single Republican, and what's it gonna take to break the rampant liberal bias at the Chronicle?

Two thoughts: (1) Rampant liberal bias at the Chronicle? That's delicious! And (2) If any of them had bothered to read the article they were all ranting about, they might have noticed the tiny detail that all three of the Democrats in question are running unopposed; even the mighty Chronicle might find it a little difficult to endorse the opposition if nobody else bothers to run. Dipshits.)

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Morena Baccarin is more lovely in this than I've ever seen her. I hadn't liked her short hair before, but it's working for her here.

"You can't put a price on the joy of not giving a shit." -Zenkitty

I keep getting spam for Real Mature Singles, only I keep mentally inserting a comma until it reads: Real Mature, Singles. Then I get irritated that my spam is judging me and my life choices and hey maybe being single is more of a mature decision for me YOU DON'T KNOW ME, until I look more closely and realize that they just want to know if I'm over 50.

Are you watching V, Hec?

I think I look too young at work. It's not precisely a first world problem, but I don't expect much sympathy. I'm 40 fucking years old and I feel like I sound like a kid. Not in substance, because I keep getting credit for that. Or even in phrasing, since my Buffy-speak is way down. I just think my tone sounds girly. And maybe I joke too much. I don't want to have to surprise my way to credibility.

But I still want to carry a Hellboy lunchbox. Need to spend some time being grim to shift my persona to idiosyncratic.

I envy you, Jilli, for having the workplace take you just as you are. But you have a much clearer "are" than I do.

Do you remember the original series?

But you have a much clearer "are" than I do.
