Jayne (Husband): Oh, I think you might wanna reconsider that last part. See, I married me a powerful ugly creature. Mal (Wife): How can you say that? How can you shame me in front of new people? Jayne (Husband): If I could make you purtier, I would. Mal (Wife): You are not the man I met a year ago.

Well, with 2 out of 605 precincts reporting, the "no" vote for veto of the gay marriage law in Maine is winning by a huge margin. [link] Why do they even bother publishing stuff like this when there are a total of 51 votes counted?

Now tagless for your comfort.

My polling place was packed and there was only a single referendum on the ballot--a referedum raising taxes for schools. I don't know if the heavy turnout is good or bodes ill. I'm worried it won't pass.

In Maine, most of the cities are reporting much higher turnout than usual, which seems like a good sign.

I am Free! Oh wait, now I have to clean.

So the No side is the side for gay marriage, right?

Correct. Yes means repeal the law allowing it, No means don't repeal the law.

I may have to seize the cat.

I now have a sub-folder in the Crochet folder on my Bookmarks menu entitled "Goth."

Calli: My people have a saying. A man who trusts can never be betrayed, only mistaken.Avon: Life expectancy among your people must be extremely short.

And to stay confusing, here in Washington State yes on 71 is how you vote to keep domestic partner rights, no to repeal domestic partner rights. (For those not following, the law 71 is trying to repeal is far short of marriage equality but, but a repeal will result in even fewer civil rights.)

3% reporting, Yes on 1 in Maine is ahead. I seem to recall that the rural districts in Maine are usually able to report before the cities are, and I know that Portland won't be counted until late, because they ran out of the machine-countable ballots and there are a few thousand they're going to have to count by hand.

Shrift, may I tag?

Sure!

I have been to the gym. Now I am in bed. Eventually I will need to get up and reheat some of the chili I made last night. I don't think the magical microwave fairies will be able to levitate a bowl that far.
