You know, with the exception of one deadly and unpredictable midget, this girl is the smallest cargo I've ever had to transport. Yet by far the most troublesome. Does that seem right to you?

Buffista Movies 7: Brides for 7 Samurai

A place to talk about movies--old and new, good and bad, high art and high cheese. It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. Spoiler policy: White font all plot-related discussion until a movie's been in wide release two weeks, and keep the major HSQ in white font until two weeks after the video/DVD release.

Woe to the fucking wicked.

Yeah, if we're going to get specific, that is the place for it.

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

Nina seems to fall into the category of "victim this bad thing happened to" which is less metaphorically interesting to me.

Well, generally speaking, the majority of werewolves fit that description, whether it be a curse or a bite. Whether the victim embraces the condition or not after the fact, I don't think I've ever seen a character seek to become a werewolf (where there are definite examples of that when it comes to vampires).

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

There's not going to be a lot of Hogwarts in the last two movies.

Though it would be nice if they filled in some of the stuff with Neville and Ginny during that year.

Woe to the fucking wicked.

Right, but then after she's bitten, it--apart perhaps from Smile Time--is as closely related to diabetes or some medical condition you have to manage as anything spiritual or having to do with her personality.

Oooh, trailer.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Spiderman 4 probably won't make the May 6 2011 release date. Production's on hold until Raimi finds a script he likes.

Always Anti-fascist!

that's not a great sign for it, is it? I mean, it doesn't have to be awful, but...

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Ooh. We should submit a Buffista cooperative script. I bet we could do better than what he's seen.

You should know I'm a big deal in the Resistance.

Among my friends there's a sort of opposite of Moff's Law mantra. "If you analyze this movie, it will fall apart." It's spoken in the middle of a film when something like a lighter held to a sprinkler head setting off all the sprinklers starts the people with a knowledge of fire protection whining and you want them to be quiet so you can enjoy the film. After the movie, it's fair game.
