I thought Elysium was interesting enough, but not entirely successful. Also, what was with Jodie Foster's accent? I assume it was supposed to be a kind of melange of upper-class Brit/French/society lady, but it just sounded weird.

Dana, regarding Jodie Foster's character and her accent: I thought the character was supposed to be French -- she had a French name ("Delacourt") and spoke French with her family. Her odd accent was supposed to be from a twinge of French accent in someone who's otherwise completely fluent in English, I think. I agree it sounded a bit weird though.

If that was the intent, it didn't sound French to me. And I know Foster is fluent in French, so it's a shame that the accent was so distracting.
