I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I miss them all tonight…

I'm a little afraid to reread Watchman now, because I'm wary that how I feel about the movie will change how I view the comic.

I'm currently rereading the comic and I'm fine, except for being sad/angry that Snyder essentially ruined the movie.

Woe to the fucking wicked.

I find it deeply amusing that my cousin saw Man of Steel and thought it was amazing and the best superhero movie ever. Demonstration of how, even when most of my family see the same media, we're not watching the same thing at all. (Granted, I am not going to go see it, but I trust your alls opinion a lot more than hers.)

I think the Mostly Film review of Man of Steel is rather good:

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I am happy to see they apparently do right by the antagonist--both the motivation (hello!) and performance.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

In startling twist, M. Night Shyamalan reveals he ghost-wrote She's All That.

Huh.

Hey. New board.

I think that might be my favorite of his movies. So stupid yet so fun!

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

I don't remember liking the actual movie all that much, but it formed the core plot of Not Another Teen Movie, which I loved dearly.

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

So I was hemming and hawing about whether or not to see Man of Steel, but this very spoilery review by Mark Waid helped me to make up my mind. I would have been very angry to have paid money to see the character of Superman compromised in that way.

Man, at this point, I am seeing the movie out of morbid curiosity.

Also io9 says there's good superpunching.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

Thanks for posting that review link, Tom. If that's what it is, that's... not Superman.
