Will Smith must be stopped, he's gone past charming and goofey into Tom Cruise-taking himself too seriously territory.
I saw ST into Lens Flare today. I enjoyed it but I don't take the Star Trek universe that seriously. Never did because even as a kid, I could see that Shatner was a joke on wheels. The movies were even worse, though I thought Wrath of Khan was the best of the bunch.
I was spoiled for the character Bandersnatch Crumpetcakes played so I knew it was coming. And I felt like a lot of the movie was fan-boy self-service, though I enjoyed the call backs to the show.
I'd pay money to see someone call him Crumpetcakes to his face. Martin Freeman especially.
I'm suddenly having a hankering to watch Jonathon Livingston Seagull. Come to me, Neil Diamond and questionable animal ethics.
I tried to read the book once, but it was so dry in comparison to the sweeping 70's score and visuals.
I really need a copy of that soundtrack, it's gorgeous.
It really is. I know ND more from this than I do from Sweet Caroline. And love him more for it.
"Brother Love's Traveling Salvation Show" is terrific recorded live.
edit: I love a song with the line "Pack up the babies, grab the old ladies."

Movie casting isn't spoilery, is it? I can't remember.
No, unless it's Bruce Willis as "the dead guy" or "Luke's fake hand" or "why is there on role for Rosebud?"
