Yeah, but you're an amateur fry cook and I come from a long line of fry cooks that don't live past 25.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

but as a teenager in real life? The worst.

Growing up the famous kid of movie star parents will do that to you.

Hey. New board.

I think Unbreakable was hated when it first came out, in comparison to Sixth Sense, but is less so now since it's basically a masterpiece compared to all of the more recent ones.

Most M. Night discussion I've read seem to think each movie is progressively worse than the previous, all the way down to The Last Airbender. Seems about right for the ones I've actually seen, though I might like Unbreakable a little better than The Sixth Sense in hindsight (not in at-the-moment sight, though; The Sixth Sense definitely brought me more immediate pleasure, but Unbreakable stuck with me some.)

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

I still hate Unbreakable. To be fair though, I can't compare it to anything more recent because I hated it SO much that I haven't seen any of his movies since.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

I liked The Sixth Sense and love the one of his films that seems most hated, Unbreakable

That's the most hated? I love that one, probably more than The Sixth Sense. I thought The Happening was the most hated. Or The Last Airbender. I think most people forget The Lady in the Water even exists.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

I think he has good directing talent. I just think he needs to direct someone else's scripts.

J.J. Abrams brings Benedict Cumberbatch showering scene to Conan.

Enjoy.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Is The Happening the one with the trees?

Or, ooh, Lady in the Water. That's the one where he (M. Night) actually plays a writer who will save humanity, or something.

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

That's the one where he (M. Night) actually plays a writer who will save humanity, or something.

And there's a character who is an obnoxious film critic who gets killed off.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

You owe it your eternal gratitude for sparing you from what came after.

Most of the negative opinions I heard of the film were from people put off by the comic book premise/reveal. I think if it debuted today after all the successful Batman and Marvel movies and films like Kick-Ass, the general public would have been a lot more receptive.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I felt it was a pretty crap comic book movie, and failed to get the reasons it was lauded so highly by those that liked it. Don't dig stupid heroes unless there's something else going on. I couldn't find that here.
