"...and then Legolas and the Hulk destroy the entire Greek army." - Penny Arcade

Well, that was certainly a JJ Abrams Star Trek movie.

Did anyone else come out of it wondering why ita ! was suddenly Enterprise bridge crew?

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

I really enjoyed it. I loved that, um, guy I'm supposed to know, whats his face Cummerbund. And Urban was great as always. I did not find it a delightful as the first, but I think that's because a lot of the pleasure of that one was that JJ actually pulled it off.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Slut Benwalla!

...sometimes I think I'm not really a very DEEP cinema-goer.

Oh, I'm not. I go to movies for to ride the Fun Train.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

For whatever reason, of all of the names that David Cole came up with on the Extra Hot Great podcast (RIP), the one I always want to repeat is Cinnamon Toast-n-Crunch. Because it still TOTALLY WORKS.

Cinnamon Toast-n-Crunch

Because people want to lick him? Works for me.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

I saw Star Trek today. I had lowered my expectations based on comments here, but I ended up really loving it.

I need to go back and read the comments here, but two stray observations.

How did the Admiral beam his daughter off of the Enterprise while the shields were up?

I noticed that there wasn't a voice of the Enterprise used in this film I guess they didn't want to replace Majel Barrett as the voice of the Enterprise.

ETA: One more observation I loved the reference to Nurse Chapel.
