hip deep in pie

I'm with ita on Tom Cruise. Magnolia was the only movie I found him bearable because he character's persona was a overblown parody of the persona he seem to love so much.

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

I've hated Cruise ever since Born on the Fourth of July was required viewing for a college film class.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

It was in wide release at the time. He was big on seeing things in the theater.

Always Anti-fascist!

At the time, I liked that one very much. But now I know a subtle performance doesn't mean, like, sweating and chapped lips. And all respect to my soul brother, Mr. Kovic, but really? I get that you were a young idealist when you went to war, but you weren't *twelve*? You know? I hate to tell him but there's no Easter Bunny, either.

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

The only film I watch with Tom Cruise in it is Interview With the Vampire, and his personality baggage doesn't really come across in that one. I still want a remake with someone else as Lestat, tho'. (Tom Hardy is my current dreamcast pick.)

Woe to the fucking wicked.

I thought about bringing up Magnolia, but decided it would be reviving Conversation #62. I would say that it's the only thing I would ever want to see with him in it, but, yeah, maybe Interview.

I am the fly who dreams of the spider

Randomly, I realized that after the whole archer Avengers/Hawkeye/Hunger Games/Katnis debate that LotR never featured in that discussion. A quick google shows Legolas with what seems to me to be correct arm stances. In a way I didn't expect less from a dude with microvision (although I don't hesitate to question his macrovision).

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

They released the appropriate "Wow, that actor can really hit some targets, even if we CGI his shots in the movie!" anecdotes about Orlando Bloom. Still, Jessica Biel wins, IMO. I didn't hear any about Renner.

Art Crawl!!!

Here is something about Legolas and his technique as an archer.
