Of course, Warner Bros. still owns Veronica Mars and we would need their blessing and cooperation to pull this off. Kristen and I met with the Warner Bros. brass, and they agreed to allow us to take this shot. They were extremely cool about it, as a matter of fact. Their reaction was, if you can show there’s enough fan interest to warrant a movie, we’re on board.
So what happens to the Kickstarter funds if WB turns around and decides not to give their blessing and cooperation?
(Having seen some of the behind-the-scenes stuff for running a Kickstarter, I am now politely skeptical about all of them.)

Well, this is why I only gave $35!
$993,445
Looks like it will hit a million before I go to lunch.
$1 million, and we still don't know who the new pope is.
No clue on the pope thing, but I called the "before I go to lunch thing", anyway.
Fastest to a million in Kickstarter history. Move over, Amanda Palmer.

They don't get collected? If Rob's responsible, can't he order things that way?
The FAQ says:
Q: Where is my money going?
A: All funds will go into a Veronica Mars Movie Project production account which has been set up by Warner Bros. on our behalf.
So it sounds like WB is officially on board.
I can't stop giggling to myself every time I think of how long I thought that the creator of Veronica Mars was the guy from Matchbox Twenty! I remember thinking that he was multi-talented!
Some people really are...I mean, the guy that got the biggest laugh ever in ESPN history for making a mistake about some player's bulging disk became an Important Liberal voice and shit. Gopher served in the Senate.
Things happen.
