ANY web page that automatically resizes my browser gets shut down and never visited again. Of all the Flash sins out there, I can't think of a single one more annoying than that.
(Seriously, web developers - we live in a wonderful new age of tabbed browsing! Why do you think that just because I want to see your restaurant's menu, I also want buffistas.org to be shrunk to the same size as your idiotically formatted Flash site???)
Don't you still have to ingest Vivarin for it to work? Unless the pills taste better than coffee, I don't see it as an improvement.
Unfortunately the reason for my gronk now becomes clear—it was the first indicator of my third migraine in the past four days. I've taken my maximum dosage of Aleve and am still dazzled and light-sensitive, so I'm giving this carnival ride about another 20 minutes before I decide whether or not to pack it in for the day.
in related news, i think Usain Bolt is a cocky ass and i wouldn't be sad to not have to watch him showboat again. there's a fine line between exuberance and showboating. he's nowhere near the line.
I don't have a problem with showboating at all.
As Heather notes, whose idea is it that you go about playing sports impassionately.
Man, I say if you're the fastest man on the planet, you go on with your bad self. If you engage in showboating *before* your event and then you don't win, well, that does make you an ass. But if you win an event that breaks a record, nets you a gold, and makes you the fastest man alive, why wouldn't you bust out with the celebrating?
Besides, what Costas, et al., are calling Bolt's "showboating" was really -- what? He slowed down at the ~80 meter mark and made some arm gestures? THAT'S "showboating"? Have these commentators never seen football games? Does no one remember Dennis Rodman?
When "slowing down" = "showboating," I say: UR DOIN IT WRONG.
I had no purple mountains or waves of grain. Land of the pilgrims' pride seemed much closer.
I always thought "Amber Waves of Grain" would be a damn fine name for a breakfast cereal.

And really, did you hear them going off on the other guy in the whatever relay who, and prepare yourself for this,
looked around
toward the end of the race?
Exactly!
I did not know that was insulting.
