If I were really good friends with my neighbors I sometimes think a couple more tuners in my DVR and a strong wireless transmitter and we could all use one cable connection.

Heh. "linksys" is always a good one to scan for if you're trying to find unsecured. Is Belkin also a manufacturer's name? I'm sure I've seen that one pop up before.
Birthday! Meeting the fam! FUN! and Anxiety inducing (but everything these days is inducing anxiety for me).
I had my brows done yesterday. I always love how they look after I have them done. Which means I should maintain them better. But, meh, I'm LAZY.
I've found a number of 'linksys' networks around town. Before I set up the wifi here, our neighbors had an unsecured network that I could use most of the time (though every time I did, their shared iTunes playlists would show up in my iTunes, so I often wondered if they could see my playlists in their iTunes (I don't think I had any shared playlists set up, but still....).
Once I set up our secured wifi network, it didn't matter.
The networks I don't ever trust are the ones I see from time to time labelled 'Free Public WiFi', as I know the places I see them don't actually have municipal free public wifi, and I've never actually had one labelled as such actually connect me to the Internet. I often suspect 'Free Public WiFi' networks of being other people phishing for information. And not doing a very good job of it.
Is Belkin also a manufacturer's name?
Yup; my router is a Belkin, and whenever I have to do a hard reset, I forget that my router name and security get reset, too, and then I can't get wireless access because I don't see my router's name ("Teppy," unsurprisingly). It usually takes me a good 10 minutes to remember that the hard reset does, actually RESET everything, so I have to go back in, re-rename it "Teppy," and re-reset the security levels.
I iz smrt.

It's much less nervous-making for me than meeting his people was. But I know all the players on this side! And my parents always love ALL my friends and vice versa. My only concern is that if my Dad irritates me, which happens a lot, I can be mean. And I don't want him to see that side of me! It's not at all flattering!
My condo complex is currently installing a wifi network for the whole place. I'm curious to see how much it's going to cost and if coverage will be all that good. My cable connection is normally pretty stable, but lately it's been getting a little flaky. Plus, it costs me $40 a month. If I can get it cheaper through the condo setup, I may be willing to switch over.
How the National Enquirer got Edwards: [link]
Around 9:40 p.m. on July 21, Hitchen saw Hunter's friend Bob McGovern pull up to the hotel in a navy blue BMW 740 sedan and take the elevator up to Hunter's room. Hitchen and Butterfield knew Edwards would likely use a less visible entrance and stationed themselves in the lobby for the five-hour stakeout. Shortly after 2 a.m, Hitchen saw McGovern return to the lobby. Expecting Edwards to take the elevator to the basement where he could escape through a rear stairwell, the reporter positioned himself at the bottom of the stairs. Edwards popped out of the elevator and started up the stairs.
Then Hitchen pounced. "Mr. Edwards, Alexander Hitchen, from the National Enquirer. Would you like to say why you were at the hotel this evening to see your mistress Rielle Hunter and your love child?" he asked. Edwards froze and "turned pale," Hitchen remembers. Edwards made a move for the top of the stairs but Butterfield, standing with a photographer, was blocking the exit. "He ducked, tucked, and ran," Butterfield says. The Enquirer reporters ran after him, Hitchen asking questions all the while. "Do you think for the sake of your child, you should admit paternity?" he said.
Edwards said nothing.
Edwards darted into a bathroom and pulled the door shut. Hitchen and Butterfield stood in the corridor, trying to pry it back open. Edwards "was trying to pull the door, and occasionally I'd see his face, and you'd see the stress on his face and his hair tussling around," Butterfield told me. A group of security guards came over. Hitchen explained the situation and handed his card to a guard who went into the bathroom. Soon, the guards shielded Edwards's head with a jacket and escorted him up the stairs and out of the hotel.
Eric Heiden.
He was on the radio a few days ago--he's got a book out about health and fitness (he's an orthopedic surgeon, IIRC).
This weekend, I'm off from the bookstore for the first time in a while (yay!), so I might head over to the Farmers Market tomorrow morning and then work on cleaning my bedroom, closet, and drawers. Then, my brother and his family will be in town for the week, so I'm heading over to Dad's on Sunday for a cookout with all of them. (Don't know if my SIL will be there--she's flying in with the kids on Saturday, but due to the recent separation, it's going to be awkward if she is around.)
I want to go home and pull the covers over my head.
