As best I can tell, I think the whimpering is as much about being crated as it is about the pain. Which is unfortunate, because I can potentially do something about the latter, but not so much the former.

She is on a couple of things for pain, but it's really hard to tell how effective they are. Taking her out is just brutal, and kind of scary. But putting her back in the crate is tough too.

After the first couple of weeks, things should get easier, but right now it's pretty hellish on both of us.

So, birthday's update! It was great. Not as many people as I hoped, but it was still really really cool, mainly the fact that I feel safe enough around my friend to have a few drinks and know they'll still love me and accept me and laugh at me when I'll start acting like the 5 year old I really am.

Also, night swimming? ROCKS. I nearly drowned 10 years ago and ever since evaded anything that had to do with swimming, but it was so good I might consider buying a swimsuit.

In less exciting news, the new wonderful great shoes I bought so I'll be able to wear The Dress and skirts I have? Apparently I'm allergic to something in them. Within 40 minutes my feet were swollen with edema. I'm gonna try and see if I can get anything out of the shop, for they really have cute shoes I love (and as the owner of 3 pairs of shoes: sandals, heels and hiking shoes, who hates shopping, it's a miracle), and I hope I'm not allergic to other shoes they make, and I think it's important for the chain to know they're making some women allergies. It's breaking my heart. They were perfect!
