raisins are natural and normal in oatmeal cookies - esp since I discover the trick to juicy raisins in cookies is to soak them in brandy first.

The best addition to oatmeal cookies is dates. I like raisins, but it's true that in cookies they can get crispy and unpleasant. Chocolate in oatmeal cookies is very wrong.
