We killed a homeless man on this bench. Me and Dru. Those were good times. You know, he begged for mercy, and you know, that only made her bite harder.

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

It's 1:30 but feels much later. I got up early and went for a strenuous walk in the woods with the dogs, and then found out my SIL is in labor (but not in the hospital yet), and did a ton of yard work, and made lunch and read the paper, and it's only 1:30.

Maybe I'll take a nap. What I should do is pay bills and mop the kitchen floor.

I made a cake last night for a BBQ today, but it's been cancelled because of my SIL being in labor and now I have to resist the siren call of Betsy's Indiana Pound Cake until tomorrow morning, when I can bring it into the office...

ita, I almost called you to see if you wanted visitors today. We were at the Festival of Books and Noah hadn't fallen asleep yet. But then I didn't want to disturb you.

Jesse, get pizza delivered! yum! dough + cheese.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I did! It took forever and was cold (I believe they are related). But still: pizza.

Seekrit Message to Jesse: did you get to meet Grace? I wish Noah would go to sleep. he's actually exhausted but refuses to nap.

Also, ita, when can you have wheat again? I ask because I have the perfect lemon bar recipe for you to try.

Never fall in love with somebody you actually love.

Hello hive mind!

Me and my friend Kirsty are coming to LA, and then San Diego for Comic-Con this year. Woo!

However, we've hit a problem. We can't find a hotel anywhere near the convention center which isn't booked. Help! We've got a budget of about $140 for a double bed room. Any suggestions?

I don't know if you got to her during activities, but it's so loud in there during that time.

Noah has given up the ghost of taking a nap.

Hey, do any of the local Buffistas want a compost bin? I got this Smith & Hawken jobbie I really don't need, because I don't even have much of a yard to put the composted dirt in. Besides, the city collects and composts food waste with our yard debris, now, which is awesome.

Yeah, it was definitely a little chaotic, in a good way. Noodles.

The status is NOT quo.

Kevin, your best bet is to use hotels.com and search around the San Diego Convention Center, but your budget is a bit low for what hotels in the height of tourist season down there charge. Good luck!
