Joyce: You don't think it's too obvious? I think I look like I have a cat on my head. Buffy: But a very well groomed cat. Joyce: Well that's a comfort.

'Bring On The Night'

Boxed Set, Vol. V: Just a Hint of Denial and a Dash of Retcon

A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.

Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.

Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.

Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.

This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.

I watch. I'm not entirely sure that Ashley's been written out permanently (though I'll give them kudos for doing something that daring if she has). But if so, I suspect Emilie Ullerup's inability to act her way out of a paper bag is the cause.

I actually kind of liked that Will wasn't all weepy for weeks on end over someone he'd had a brief fling with. He was sad, yes, especially at first, but it would have been odd for him to take Invisible Gal's death as hard as Helen was taking Ashley's.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

ita,

thanks for the Sanctuary info, interesting. I fucking hate Kate with a white, hot hatred. I want Mr. Sasquatch to eat her accidentally.

Amanda had her weak points, but I think I got used to her. I don't think I'll get used to Kate.

re: FF. I assume that if the WH is burning, there was another blackout.

Matt,

I see what you mean, but he was with her for several months. It just seemed kind of like "oh well, my woman is gone."

I thought most of that time span involved her being overseas - wasn't she shipping out for London in last season's finale, not that long after they'd taken up together?

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I assume that if the WH is burning, there was another blackout.

No--it's that I don't understand how it got burnt during the blackout. I'd have thought it'd be one place nothing would crash into, since nothing would be flying over it. Errant Marine One?

Sanctuary is filling the Doctor Who shaped hole in my life that Sarah Jane just can't.

While I like the characters, for the most part, where Ashley is concerned, I agree with the comments upthread. She didn't really appeal to me until the very end.

I've got a little bit extra confused sauce over why they seem to have forgotten the best parts of Henry and the Big Guy's relationship that was so poignantly played out at the end of last season. I don't particularly look for slash but I thought that was nicely handled.

I'm definitely glad to see Tesla back. Love that character.

Did NOT love the bug guy in the latest episode. That kind of bad CGI comic relief was a bit too 'Willow' for my tastes.

Really? But I am a whole season behind on SJA. But I did love the first season more than I've ever liked Sanctuary. I feel an emotional disconnect with all the characters, even when I can intellectually appreciate what they're going through. Maybe if AT's forehead moved when she cried...

Why are you whitefonting? Was it that disturbing?

how did the VP die?

Now that you mention it, I don't know if we know. ::googles madly:: In the crash of Air Force 2. Which wouldn't be related.

There is THAT.

I dunno, I watched the first 4 episodes of SJA and just couldn't connect with the kiddiness of it...despite appearances by the Sontarans and the Jadoon. It struck me that the cinematography is so different, the alien characters look much more plastic than they ever did on DW. Maybe too much light.

Why are you whitefonting? Was it that disturbing?

Har. Well, it was pretty cringe worthy.

I tend to overdue the whitefont, I suppose. I just hate making slap-inducing mistakes. Didn't know if everyone had seen the ep yet.

ita,

where did Air Force 2 crash? Was it near the WH?
