Spike: Lots of fuss over one girl. Other things to do around here--important things. Angel: You know that whoosh thing you do when you're suddenly not there anymore? I love that.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

I did a double-take on that one.

Indeed.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I am more shocked my Heath Ledger's death than it seems like I ought to be. All I really know about him is he was young and talented and pretty, and that shouldn't add up to dead, no matter how often it actually does.

Good Trouble and Righteous Fights

-t is me. There are plenty of actors I know more about and am more invested in...and yet, so young, so talented, so much going for him. It's upsetting.

Because books.

Me, too. Wow. He's just not someone I ever saw as dying young, or overdosing. I keep thinking about his daughter, too.

I've had a coughing fit every damned time I'm waiting in line at Victoria's Secret and I'm pretty sure it is the perfumes, though I've never thought myself particularly sensitive.

We may, may have just dodged a huge bullet here at work. Please.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

What? Wow. I'm sorry. (err, about Heath. Good on you about work, sarameg.)

I really liked his work.

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

Poor Matilda.

I'm irrationally upset by that. Maybe because she was the only real-life Matilda either Hec or I had heard of before we had ours. It just feels viscerally wrong and frightening that any Matilda should be suddenly fatherless.

Parenthood seems to come with a good dose of paranoia and superstition, gifts with purchase whether you want them or not.

Poor Heath. Poor Michelle and Matilda and everyone.
