lots of people still have VCRs. Do you have a book shelf in your building or at the laundry? I take VHS tapes that I think Mac will like, if you have any PG stuff.

Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
dude, NYC is like in the Dark Ages wrt to recycling.
Also, I been meaning to say - YAY Rob Riggle with the national commercial campaign, but WHY ARE THEY NOT LETTING HIM BE FUNNY!!?!!?!?

Really? That sucks.
Rooting for GB, but damn that was a nice catch.
Jesse, my office has contacts with a tape recycler - I can get the info for you on Tuesday if you're interested.
So what do I do with old videotapes?
eBay as a lot or several lots
Donate to a local library
Sell at a yardsale
Donate to Goodwill or the like organization
Donate to a local school (most will take G, PG and PG-13)
plus all the other ideas suggested...
Oh, that would be great, Jess. It's probably not even 20 tapes, if that makes a difference. And msbelle, they include musical hearthrobs of the 90s (LL Cool J, Johnny Gill, I forget who else), and some Buffy. So, probably not to Mac's taste.
Oh! I do have a couple of Schoolhouse Rock, if you want those. (America Rock and Grammar Rock.)
Yep. For example: at my parents' in suburban TX - grocery stores have recycling containers for plastic bags and give a credit for bringing in cloth bags. Plus I am pretty sure they take more types of plastic than we do in NYC (we take ONLY bottles and jugs that are #1 and #2).
I seriously thought my parents had turned into dirty hippies when I saw their reusable grocery bags. But no! Apparently that kind of thing is all the rage in other places.
