You never know if a girl's gonna say 'yes', or if she's gonna laugh in your face and pull out your still-beating heart and crush it into the ground with her heel.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

28 out there -- loved the snow pictures, especially because I got to see Ginger's backyard this summer! All the pretty snow around here is now ratty and mostly melted, but at least all the parking spaces are clear....

I went to Arisia, hung out with friends I don't get to see enough of (or at all), talked to some strangers, knitted like a fiend, and managed to have lunch at Mary Chungs (yummy Szechuan) AND dinner at Asmara (yummy Ethiopean) which is like the hat trick of Cambridge dining. Plus the people I inveigled into coming along had never had Ethiopean before, and were so very vocal in their discovery of something so delicious that they had passed by previously. Also very grateful that it was not only vegetarian-friendly, but has all the meat-eaters reaching across the table to make sure they get some of the veggie dishes....

"Fuck Western ideologically-motivated gender identification!" Sulu gasped, and came.

Wow. Snow. Long time no see...

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Dog vs. balloons: [link]

Doggie gets off to a slow start, but then hits its stride, pops 74 balloons in 57 seconds....

Now tagless for your comfort.

-17. Brrrrr.

As cute as the dog popping balloons is, I'd say that is an awful choking hazard for him.

I'm going to cheer for the Packers today (go free furniture!).

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

-5 here. Just in from a frigid walk. Dog comes in front door and goes straight to back door where she commences fussing to be let out on the (metal) porch. Which is where she was for half an hour before we went walking anyway. Freak.

I'm having a lot more understanding for my mom's "put a sweater on, you're making me cold!" But I also feel like someone's going to see her out there and report me for abuse or neglect or something. So she's just going to have to suck it up and stay inside for awhile.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Holy crap, it's over 40 degrees warmer here than it is where Cashmere is. Bananas!

Now tagless for your comfort.

-31 windchills. Frozen bananas!

We've got a babysitter coming at 5 so we can go out to eat and maybe catch a movie. But I suspect the town will be out in full force at the bars watching the game.

Because books.

It's in the high 20s but we did wake up to a foot of snow. Sigh.

We have 25 and sunny. God forbid we should get precipitation when it's below freezing.

The lost sheep grow teeth, forsake their lambs, and lie with the lions.

It's all of 8 degrees here. I have no idea about wind chill and I'm not all that keen to find out for myself.
