Giles, if you would like to get by in American society, then you are going to have to follow our traditions. You're the patriarch. You have to host the festivities, or it's all meaningless.

Would you believe I had pho for the first time in my life this past thanksgiving? I'd never had it before & lori steered me right. It was so good.

Having a bit of nerves about tomorrow. It'll pass.

I still remember my Aunt Carol visiting when I was 4. I remember sitting on the back patio as she dried her hair (she had long long hair.) She's the one who had a heart attack not long ago.

For the first time in her life, she has short hair. Or rather, no hair. Chemo. Ovarian. She's been looking for neon mohawk wigs.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I don't think I've ever had pho.

IT"S REALLY GOOD!

Oops, capslock. But true.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I picked up some oxtails on a whim the other day and may attempt to make pho. At some point.

Eta: because sarameg is correct

"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

Pho is really, really good.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

I had my housewarming party tonight, with my co-workers and former co-workers stopping by to take a look at the place. I think it went well. At the very least , I had 7 out of 8 possible attendees, which definitely beats the 1 out of 11 that made me swear off throwing parties a few years ago.

We even got the teatotaller to try some red wine, which she said wasn't bad though it clearly wasn't to her taste. I am laughing at everyone eating the cherries and apricots off my fruit trays and leaving the carambola slices, though.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I'm good, Kat.

I think my first pho was with Kat and Lori. And it was my last pho, for no good reason.

Picking up shrimp pasta on the way home. Mmm.
