Giles, if you would like to get by in American society, then you are going to have to follow our traditions. You're the patriarch. You have to host the festivities, or it's all meaningless.

ION, the temperature dropped 10 degrees. And it's really gray out there.

It's monsooning here right now, and the lights have flickered a few times.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

There's a narrow band of storms hitting Chicago. Hasn't gotten to Evanston.

And after this band, there's a wider one behind it.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

David - whoo hoo on the temp job!

It'll be good to have money that doesn't come from selling my records.

Bwah! Well done oh Beavers of MIT!

(As Jon likes to remind me every time I mock his alma mater's mascot: "They're nature's engineers!")

Ooh. A hard rain's gonna fall.

Awesome!

It's been pretty dry this month, which was good for the crops (otherwise, the farmers have to pull out gas-powered dryers before harvesting), but this rain should be a good thing.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Yay, MIT! A good hack is truly a work of (ephemeral) art.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Anyone have experience ordering from bluefly? Are returns easy or a hassle?

Pretty simple. I returned my stuff after months, and I was only asking for Bluefly credit (which meant no shipping charges back) and got it when I was only half expecting success.
