One of my friends was Jonathan Larsen's assistant for the workshop production of Rent. He thought it was the biggest pile of crap ever and was amazed when it went on to be a monster hit.

He also worked on Urinetown, and was a big fan.

I say musicals: popcorn for the masses!!
