Buffista Movies 6: lies and videotape

A place to talk about movies--old and new, good and bad, high art and high cheese. It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. Spoiler policy: White font all plot-related discussion until a movie's been in wide release two weeks, and keep the major HSQ in white font until two weeks after the video/DVD release.

Lurching from one disaster to the next.

We're on the verge of losing a movie. Spike Jonze's version of Where the Wild Things Are is a film with an uncertain future as executives behind the scenes at Warner Bros and Legendary Pictures are right now trying to figure out whether or not to essentially reshoot the entire film.

I know my own heart and understand my fellow man. But I am made unlike anyone I have ever met. I dare to say I am like no one in the whole world. - Anne Lister

We got the new Joan Crawford box set yesterday and watched Sadie McKee last night. Let me profess my Joan love again. That woman is FIERCE! My fave actress ever!

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

My fave actress ever!

I admire that. I think A Woman's Face is in that set. That's really one of her best roles ever. Cukor drew a subtle (yet fierce!) performance from her.

I am the fly who dreams of the spider

Just got back from Spiderwick. I'm trying to remember the last time I was that disgusted by a movie. At least Star Wars Episode Two was funny (in a MST3K kinda way).
