Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I need to watch it again to be sure. Her physicality was definitely good. And that scene where she pumps the shotgun one-handed may be burnt on my retinas forever. Girlcrush!

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

And that scene where she pumps the shotgun one-handed may be burnt on my retinas forever. Girlcrush!

Uh-huh.

I hadn't seen it in ages - I was surprised at how well it holds up.

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

The first two both hold up really well, although the 80's-ness of T1 is unintentionally hilarious now. Once the story kicks into gear, it's an incredibly ferocious action/chase movie. I got to say, as much as I've disliked his most recent films, Cameron did a great job with T1, T2 and ALIENS. I can pretty much watch any of them anytime.

I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I miss them all tonight…

Bayista film and history buffs might want to get down to the Castro, as it's been re-70s-ified for Gus Van Zandt's Harvey Milk biopic.

move out and draw fire

I'm watching Transformers, or, actually, I'm in the same room where the movie is playing. So I'm more in tune with the music than the visuals. It's a whack score - Bay jumps from one piece to the next abruptly, without transition. And they are almost all jokes.

The long shot of the Navy fleet - the music is the Pirates of the Caribbean theme.

The running battle on the LA freeways - the music is the Terminator theme.

The siege scene, with SECDEF and the hackers firing shotguns at the decepticon - the music is Assault on Precinct 13.

There was the Exorcist theme at one point too, but I don't know what was on the screen.

You should know I'm a big deal in the Resistance.

The long shot of the Navy fleet - the music is the Pirates of the Caribbean theme.

I was wondering whether the resemblance was intentional. I'm glad you pointed out the humor.

Well, I'm hoping it's humor.

That bit, and her doing pullups on her bunk.

there's a bunk joke in there somewhere but I can't seem to come up with it.

vanguard of the socialist Hollywood liberal homosexualist agenda

I was wondering whether the resemblance was intentional.

The music in Transformers is by Steve Jablonsky, who's from the Hans Zimmer stable. He's actually worked on PotC 1, Bad Boys, and (amusingly) Team America: World Police. So yeah, probably sounds exactly the same.
