Saw Sweeny Todd. Liked it a lot but am still washing the blood out of everything. More later.
Oh, one question for those who know the original - does it leave Anthony and Joanne high and dry like this does? I mean, we know they both survive, but that's about it. I could TOTALLY see Sondheim doing that, but I thought I'd ask. And I do know their's were the songs that got seriously cut, from other comments I read.
IIRC, we get a bit more for them. Not a hugely lot more: the ending's not about them in the stage version, either, but a bit more.
At the end of the stage show,
Anthony and Joanna rush into the bakehouse with the police that Joanna's gone to get. They find Toby crouching over Todd's body.
Just in from There Will Be Blood tonight. Man, that was fucked up. I'm a little overwhelmed for deeper reading at present.
I just watched
Sky High.
I don't think it did well at the box office or became very popular, but it's a lot of fun! Very enjoyable, and it pretty much delivers what it promises. Plus, a cute redhead.
I've a great fondness for
Sky High
because it pushes all my teenage superhero buttons. Also, I can't resist a heroic were-guinea pig.
I like Sky High because it was made by the same people who did Kim Possible. I didn't like the actor who played the villain, but other than that the cast was great across the board.
Snuck into a press screening of Juno. Love.
Saw Juno last night, too. Had to drive a half an hour because it was only on a local screen for one week (stoopid theatre). Loved it and Ellen Page.
Corwood, I'd love to hear your impressions of the movie after you are less overwhelmed. The end is a trip, I agree.
