Gilliam fans: Johnny Depp is being rumored to take over Heath Ledger's role in The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus:
"There is a point in the film when Heath falls through a magic mirror," a studio source told the paper. "He could change into another character after that, and that is where Johnny would come in. It's a weird, fantasy, time-travel movie, so Heath's character could easily change appearance. It would be a poignant moment. I mentioned to a work friend that Ledger was filming a Gilliam movie, and he said, "Man, Gilliam can't buy a break can he? Someone should make a movie about his problems making movies."
So I told him about Lost in La Mancha.
I'm still really oddly upset about Ledger. It sort of feels like that was one of the turning points for universes...like, in one reality he doesn't die, but we got stuck in the one where he does die, and it's not good.
Or I need better drugs.
