You're wrong about River. River's not on the ship. They didn't want her here, but she couldn't make herself leave. So she melted... Melted away. They didn't know she could do that, but she did.

I look more rad than Lutheranism

Does God hate a lot? I mean, in his own words did he say he hated people?

I think he only hates Fred Phelps.

No, dang it, I do truly believe that God even loves that waste of DNA, and that burns me up. Which is why I'm not God. (I don't think. Wait. t checks Nope. Not God.)

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Which is why I'm not God. (I don't think. Wait. <checks> Nope. Not God.)

What exactly did you check?

Well, like most of the reactionary buttholes, they take their Bible quotes so unbelievably out of context that it's not even relevant any more.

Leviticus 18:22 is, I suppose, condemning homosexuality, but the whole point of Jesus showing up was to give people a new set of laws, and to tell them not to worry about Leviticus so much.

But (having just reread it) that quote from Ephesians they use on their flier? It's taken completely out of context. Nothing in that chapter of Ephesians has anything at all to do with condemning homosexuality. In fact, Ephesians 5 is the same place that the "Be subject to one another" quote comes from. That whole chapter of Ephesians is about being loving and good to one another. Frankly, this behavior of picketing funerals and hating people is so anti-Ephesians it's not even funny.

Actually, they don't even quote Ephesians 5:6 correctly. On the flier, they only quote "For it is because of these things that the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience," but they leave off the first part of the passage! Ephesians 5:6 in its entirety reads: "Let no one deceive you with empty words, for it is because of these things that the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience."

These people are incapable of correctly understanding their Bible.

Never fall in love with somebody you actually love.

Have they tried to picket such a high-profile person's funeral yet?

They have picketed funerals before and got international press. They've done some huge ones.

Personally, I kind lost interest in organized religion when I saw the bit about stoning naughty children to death. Which is a few pages after the 'hate-fags' thing.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

Wonder if the Hell's Angels will show up to cordon the protesters off from the mourners, as they've done with military funerals.

I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I miss them all tonight…

It's actually the Patriot Guard (which a lot of HAs participate in), and if they're requested, they'll come. I keep meaning to join.

Shit's all sorts of different now.

In fact, Ephesians 5 is the same place that the "Be subject to one another" quote comes from.

"In this day and age of 24-hour cable crap, devoted to feeding the voyeuristic gluttony of the American public, hooked on a bad soap opera that's passing itself off as important, don't you think you might be able to find some relevance in verse 21? How do you end the cycle? Be subject to one another!"

Sigh. I miss that man.

If you read the whole thing, it makes a radical change in the middle.

[NOTE: I am not proselytizing; I just wanted to clear up what seems to be a misperception about the bible. If you've read the whole thing, then I apologize for over-explaining.]

Sean, man, I love you.

they leave off the first part of the passage! Ephesians 5:6 in its entirety reads: "Let no one deceive you with empty words, for it is because of these things that the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience."

Which means they're actually, IMO, referring to their own selves.

These people are incapable of correctly understanding their Bible.

Good reading comprehension is difficult when your head is that far up your ass.
