Zoe: I thought you wanted to spend more time off-ship this visit. Wash: Out there is seems like it's all fancy parties. I like our party better. The dress code is easier and I know all the steps.

I think if you have the same job but better title, you just add stuff like does these things more "independently" and shit

YAY, dinosaur comics and ASL! So cute!! And all true!

an intent "So...are you seeing anyone?" as first gambit in the asking out game

Yeah, and if it's someone that's gonna notice that you don' thave a BF (and then think either you lied, or NOW you're single so they should ask again), sometimes a "No, but I haven't really been open to it/don't have time in my life/some other lame excuse" can function also.

What is even happening?

I have achieved book. Also achieved some rearrangement of shelves at B&N for both WTVPPLTL and for AmyLiz's Room Service.

Off to read.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

It is heartening to hear that my uni was not talking out of its ass regarding a BS in Law, although it is sort of redonkulus for an Administrative Assistant who makes between 20,000 and 30,000/year.

Is the job in the law school or something else that make that actually relevant for an AA? The whole thing just sounds odd to me.

Can't....stop....laughing....

The family of Ron Goldman has purchased the rights to O.J. Simpson’s canceled book, "If I Did It," from a court-appointed bankruptcy trustee in a settlement reached Monday.

The book rights will be held in the name of Ron Goldman LLC, Goldman family attorney David Cook said. Goldman's family won a civil wrongful death case against Simpson now totaling more than $33 million.

The Goldmans own the copyright, media rights and movie rights. They also acquired Simpson's name, likeness, life story and right of publicity in connection with the book, according to court documents.

The Goldmans want to rename the book "Confessions of a Double Murderer" and plan to shop it around, Cook said.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Huh. So they could make a movie and have a computer-generated OJ that looks and talks exactly like him, doing the crime....

I know my own heart and understand my fellow man. But I am made unlike anyone I have ever met. I dare to say I am like no one in the whole world. - Anne Lister

Wow! Did I tell y'all that I was friends with Ron when I was in high school? He worked at the YMCA after school program with my best friend. We were at Ron's house on the night we all graduated from high school. Sad.

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

My uni does this really weird thing with Administrative Assistants-- they are considered "professional and supervisory" and not "support", and although many of them are personal assistants to high level people, they also use the title for people who do things like edit journals or display the art in the art gallery. This particular job is in the Office of Technology Transfer, which deals with the university making money from innovations/studies that the faculty have done. I think this person processes a lot of legal paperwork.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

So, the elevator informs me that a Muslim woman in the UK was called for jury duty, and is now facing up to three years in prison for contempt because of her headscarf.

Well, not the scarf per se, but the fact that she was using it to hide her iPod during the trial. Cute.

Maybe she could claim to belong to the Church of Ipodology.
