Tracy: Well-- That call -- That call means you just murdered me. Mal: No, son. You murdered yourself. I just carried the bullet a while.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

In true Buffista form, I've been skipping and skimming Vampire People. Partly because the car was inside of a dog dark, and sustained attention is hard when you're sneaking in paragraphs between lamp posts.

Also, I had a pizza on my lap.

Random Acts of PayPal is making me cry. I'm midway through the email thread, and the whole rush of that night, seeing it all happen, it's all flooding back.

Bless you, Ms. AB.

I took pictures.

Amusingly to me, it was filed next to Bored of the Rings.

oh joy! Oh Rapture ! I have a brain!

Matt is reading the book in the tub - and he was laughing so hard I think he almost drown.

This is a W&P for a book.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I'm trying to pace myself. I haven't even skipped ahead to p171 and read the entire chapter. Mainlining=good, except when it means you're done.

So the doc still hasn't drawn up a plan of action for you?

He may have one, but he hasn't told me. And he's the doctor my neuro was recommending I ditch. I can't fault her for meaning well, but organisation isn't their middle name.

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

Hah! That means I'm completely spoiled, and am having fun nodding at all of your posts.

When I read my ARC, I kept chortling and then reading bits out loud to Pete. There'll be a review up at GCS in the next few weeks.

(I'm justifying the delay in the review because I want to post it after this initial rush of street-teaming has slowed a bit, because I want to make sure that there is a steady stream of people buying it.)

That man was going to shank me. Over an omelette. Two eggs and a slice of government cheese. Is that what my life is worth?

Yay, for Vampire People! I don't have my copy yet, but I will be seeking one out next week.

I had a rather eventful night. I met up with some friends for martinis. Well, martiniS for them, martini for me as I was driving. On my way home, I ran over a chunk of misc. concrete in the middle of the highway. No way to avoid it as I didn't even see it. It TORE UP my tire. I was in the left lane and made my way to the right and was about to pull off when I saw an IDOT truck (Ill. Dept. of Transportation...tow truck thingy).

I pulled over right in front of the truck and told the guy what happened. He said to pull off at the next exit (about 1/4 mile up) and he'd put on my spare. Which he did, quick as you please. And IDOT provides that service for free.

I got back on the road in nothing flat. Seriously, for something that could have really sucked, it was a godsend. For those who know Chicago, I was at 290 and Homan. Not exactly the best neighborhood for a single chick at midnight to be by herself.

Glad your safe, ChiKat.

I just found out it is a friend's birthday tomorrow. I think I know a book she'd like...

Me, too! Seriously, if I had to get a flat, that was the way to do it. Now I just need to go get a tire first thing in the morning because I have a Civil War reenactment tomorrow and don't want to drive that far on a spare.

"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

I'll probably buy it for my BFF. She loves me dearly, but doesn't quite get the internet thing. perhaps this will help.

I just snarfed a few more chapters. I had meant to wait.

That's pretty cool, ChiKat. And reminds me I need to buy a spare, since I'm driving around on my original extra (bless the Jetta for having fullsized spares--my Accord only had a doughnut).
