Zoe: I thought you wanted to spend more time off-ship this visit. Wash: Out there is seems like it's all fancy parties. I like our party better. The dress code is easier and I know all the steps.

That man was going to shank me. Over an omelette. Two eggs and a slice of government cheese. Is that what my life is worth?

Mmmm....cupcakes....

I can hear at least 3 different fireworks shows from my apartment, but I can't see a single one and didn't want to deal with The People and go out.

I went to my friend A's house. We could see the fireworks from her balcony. We could also see the fireworks displays for at least 10 other cities or counties.

Happy 4th peoples. I know it's a big holoday, nobody get struck by lightining or swept away in a tornado.

I've done the first coat of paint in my dining room and I think I now know what it's like to stand inside a giant tomato. I am not sure yet if I like being in a giant tomato.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

Hmm. The Kwik-E-Mart that's allegedly in DC is actually in the suburbs, and not by a metro. (It is kind of near a bus stop, but it takes forever to get there, and I don't want to go to a Kwik-E-Mart quite that badly.) Phooey.

Happy 4th, everyone! I'm watching 1776 on TCM right now, as is my Independence Day tradition. Dickinson is busy debating independence with John Adams right now--"Lawyer!" "Madman!" "Fribble!"

It was nice that my park district pool was open during the whole day today, and even nicer that it was practically empty, even at noon. Got my mile swim in under 71 minutes--even better!

I have tomorrow off from the full-time job, but I do have to go in to B&N for the part-time job at 6:00 in the evening, then back to the full-time job on Friday...feh.

It's in bladensburg, I think. If you can wait a few weeks, I'll probably go weekend after next.

I love that there is no better way to celebrate being American than enjoying a good cupcake!

Can you pass the US citizenship test?

I had to guess on one, but ended up with 100% right!
