Mostly I was thinking of the kind of things that can't easily be replaced. And while I love my friend, I can't exactly afford to buy her family beds.

And at Christmas time I'd want them to all send me ornaments. (after my family's fire the ornament party was so wonderful. when we unpack the ornaments each year and see them its about the only wonderful memory from that time period)

I'd think someone academically studying religion (including its history and how dogma changes over time) would be fairly openminded about it. At the very least, enough so that she doesn't assume she already knows all the answers.
In my experience, and having recently dated a religion prof who went to a religious college undergrad and then seminary, I have certainly found this to be the case.
