in the 80's, people didn't wax, did they?
I know! I guess their thesis was she would have shaved, but frankly, I don't think this woman cared that much, and small-town Texas was probably not the first place to have affordable Brazilian's waxes.

And if any under-30 Buffista wants to pipe up and reassure me that these in fact were a bunch of nutbars and that most sane under-30s don't in fact equate nude goolies with handwashing and flossing, I'd be much reassured
Well, amusingly we just had this conversation at work last week! Bunch of 25-35 years olds. And my boss had done it once, for her wedding. And I have done it many times. And no one else had. I was a little startled, as I'd been led to believe it was much more common.
I like the result, but it's freakin' expensive, man!
It's not feminine to remove body hair. It's just what you have to do.
Clearly not a lesbian. Many of whom are down with the hair. That said, i've been surprised by several who might grow their hair out everywhere ELSE, but keep the goolie trimmed if not bald.
I think thongs are inappropriate for children, but honestly, unless I'm wearing a satin dress, I usually figure VPL is not a problem, and should only serve to reassure people that I AM wearing underwear. Hell.
There's always the bizarre contradictory trend I see around here of wearing a brightly colored thong under white pants. No PL, but reassurance that they are, if fact, wearing underwear. Or something.
Oh, also:
I think hairy boy parts deserve a chance for waxing too. Dammit.
Guys do wax. At least some guys. And/or shave and/or trim, just like the ladies. At least in my acquaintance.
Dracula's Castle is for sale.

Oh, I know that some do, but it certainly isn't anywhere near as common in men as it is in women. I know a lot of men who would never consider waxing/trimming/shaving and yet think women should.
Guys do wax. At least some guys.
Enough, though? I mean some guys have multiple orgasms, they just don't count.
I have no idea why I'm blushing typing that.
My brain is so on vacation right now. Can't get jack accomplished.
Total removal of a normal body part, for the sake of "hygeine," strikes me as deeply insane. Decide you look prettier with only one eye, whatev, it's your eye. Decide that having more than one eye is freakish and gross, honey, seek therapy.
That goes double if the body part removal is strongly divided along gender lines.
In re thongs, not only is there a longstanding problem with the whole black thong/pale trousers issue, but there is the basic problem I see demonstrated in front of me on the public transit stairs all the time: it is totally possible to be wearing a thong and accidentally catch your trouser/dress material in your buttcrack. Which is GROSS. In sum: thong not the magical cure-all for underpants-visibility issues; it creates as many problems as it solves.
I don't wax, but I'll do some maintenance down there.
I prefer trimmed trim, but appreciate all kinds.
I just opened my birthday card from the FiL. Picture of a kitten on it. Yep. Oh well, there was a $100 gift card which I sorely need.
I don't think body hair falls in the "body parts" category.
It's more an accessory than a part.
