I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Wimbledon:

This is surreal, watching people pray for rain so Serena Williams doesn't get her ass kicked.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

I'm only mentally on vacation. This is gonna be a long day.

Wimbledon:

Unbelievable. Serena Williams can barely walk, and she's still winning points.

Dana, is it Serena's hamstring?

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Dana, what's wrong with her that she can barely walk? I'm evidently going to have to fire up wimbledon.org. But I have no audio. Grr.

Wimbledon:

She crumpled with some kind of leg cramp. They treated her for it, but eventually, she had to get up and play. She's still really hurting and missing all kinds of shots, but she also sent a 110-mph ace down the court. She's about to lose the second set, bringing it to 1-all. She really needs a rain delay.

Wimbledon:

And there's the rain.

Cool! I wish I could be watching it.

Wait, no, I wish I could be home asleep resting my head. But, like second (wait, I also wish I could win the lottery, so third) I wish I could be watching it.

Except, of course, that there's rain.

I think the upshot is quite clearly that I'm avoiding two work tasks quite assiduously. If I put as much effort into them as I'm putting into avoiding them, I'd be employee of the year.

Why is everyone not posting? Don't make me go link hunting again. That never ends well.
