oh joy! Oh Rapture ! I have a brain!

many many many of the pharma co's around here are in South San Francisco. harder commute from the east bay but then there are a bunch of them in the East bay here. Depending on what you do , it isn't horrid finding a job around here - but commutes can be brutal if you change jobs

Also, Kat, re: the possible job, is there any way you'd be able to eventually move closer to it? So that it might just be like, a year of bad commute or something?

I don't think after a year it will matter because I fervently hope not to be in LA after one more year. I can't stand it here anymore. Of course, this is dependent on what happens with my kids etc etc, but yeah.

Come to Portland...

(I know, but it's a great city. And needs more Buffistas.)

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

You'd think y'all wanted me to move to New York!

Well, duh.

Heh. Well, the job in Portland (technically, in Lake Oswego) is the ONE I've applied for. But I don't necessarily have *high* hopes, it's a little out of my range. Other than that, I've just been glancing...there's plenty of jobs out there.

Beth, I did see lots of South SF jobs....if I lived somewhere fun, could I get there in any kind of decent amount of time?

Kat, where do you want to go?

Oh, move here and live in the Hawthorne district! Then I can visit.

merea a lot of the companies have things like van pools from various public transportation places - and driving is possible from the city - it just depends on where you are and your willingness to explore different routes. my sister and BL work in SSF, live in pacifica, and drive into the city a lot. But I wouldn't chose pacifica - too cold foggy and sort of small town that has big houses but not much else there but the city, lots of people do

I know! It's where I'd like to move to. In fact, I am sitting with a how-to-get-an-oregon-teaching-credential packet in my lap.

It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

I just came home to a mailing from citibank, my credit card carrier. They are saying that there was some incident they can't disclose whereby my cc info may have been stolen. It enclosed my new card-- right after I just spent a bunch of money on plane tix. Just FYI cardholders.
