It's called a blaster, Will, a word that tends to discourage experimentation. Now, if it were called the Orgasmater, I'd be the first to try your basic button press approach.

I'm waiting for the hot weather to break. Any time now would be fine, thanks.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Are you using some sort of remote access software, like Citrix? That's what I hate most about Citrix - sometimes the Ctrl-C and Ctrl-V work, sometimes they don't.

So someone in the Huffington Post linked to this article on 11 things you can do when you're feeling a bout of depression. Turns out the article in in beliefnet. So I decided to read the article anyway - this is number five:

Distract yourself
Any addict would benefit from a long list of "distractions," activities than can take her mind off of a cig, a glass of Merlot, or a suicidal plot (during a severe depression). Some good ones: crossword puzzles, novels, Sudoku, e-mails, reading Beyond Blue (a must!); walking the dog (pets are wonderful "buddies" and can improve mental health), card games, movies, "American Idol" (as long as you don't make fun of the contestants...bad for your depression, as it attracts bad karma); sports, de-cluttering the house (cleaning out a drawer, a file, or the garage...or just stuffing it with more stuff); crafts; gardening (even pulling weeds, which you can visualize as the marketing director that you hate working with); exercise; nature (just sitting by the water); and music (even Yanni works, but I'd go classical).

So we need to worry about karma when dealing with depression? Fuck that. I say, if you're depressed and making fun of American Idol contestants makes you feel better - go for it.

"You can't put a price on the joy of not giving a shit." -Zenkitty

Oh, tommyrot, I did not need another reason to stab things today. I think it is time this addict took herself on a smoke break to "distract herself" from homicidal plots.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Hmm. I'm supposed to be working on a list of distractions/calming thoughts. But making fun of AI is totally going on there now.

Off downstairs to a retirement bash for someone I don't know. THREE people have come by and told me to go. I give up.

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

Ann Coulter is losing her shit.

She walks around calling people "fags," mocking their dead children, wishing that they were murdered, then when people respond by saying "uh, you're kind of mean," Ann flips out over the level of venom that's directed against her.

Yep

I don't suppose there's a transcript of the latest thing, is there? I'm just not in the mood to hear that woman speak right now.

tommy, that's exactly the source of my ire. Well, one of them.

Kicking things might distract me.

Always Anti-fascist!

Happy Hec Day! Generally when e-mailing a stranger, I also tend to start "You don't know me..." because when I hear from somebody new I always wonder if it's a Buffista, pseud-free or something like that, so I figure maybe other people might too. I generally start in business letter mode, at first.
