Well, other bands know more than three chords. Your professional bands can play up to six, sometimes seven, completely different chords.

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

Aimee, just remember - when giving references, no slashing (possibly the only time it's inappropriate).

Speaking of weather, today is such a perfect, mild, sunny San Francisco day that I would have been absolutely unsurprised if everyone at the Ferry Building Farmer's Market had burst into a spontaneous polka of joy.

You know, I did not move here for the weather, but realized when I walked outside today what a lovely fringe benefit it was.

That man was going to shank me. Over an omelette. Two eggs and a slice of government cheese. Is that what my life is worth?

I actually really like thunderstorms. So, it's a good day for me even though I didn't get a lot of rain.

eta: megan, how is it going in SF? Settling in okay?

Huh. It barely rained here and I'm not that far from the Loop.

Does Chicago have microclimates? Because we were getting pounded there for a little while.

I dunno. It rained here (and still is a bit), but it was light, warm, summery rain and not monsoon-levels.

eta: I'm about 7-ish miles due west of the Loop. Not far, but far enough, I guess.

The northwest corner of my city got pounded this afternoon with a stationary thunderstorm. Nearly 2 inches in just over an hour. Which means my flower buckets might be a bit bedraggled.

It barely sprinkled 4 miles away. But I could hear the thunder!

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

The Tribune mentioned one specific neighborhood the severe thunderstorm was in. (I forget what it was. Logan Square?)

I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I miss them all tonight…

You know, if I could ever remember your real name, I could call you up and invite you to lunch.
