Y'all see the man hanging out of the spaceship with the really big gun? Now I'm not saying you weren't easy to find. It was kinda out of our way, and he didn't want to come in the first place. Man's lookin' to kill some folk. So really it's his will y'all should worry about thwarting.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

ita, I'm so sorry. What happened to the getting-admitted plan?

Phew for Grace!

I'm starting to feel bad that I've never been in the hospital, because someone's got to be keeping the doctors busy, and I'm sorry it's apparently all of you. I am, however, subsidising your insurance.

David, we've had hit/miss luck with EB Games [link]

The upside to them is that they will buy and sell used games. Downside, they have crappy customer service and you usually have to paw thru the game bins.

The DS will play Gameboy games but only on one screen and they aren't as interactive (boy, did I learn my lesson after I teased the 15 y.o about blowing on her DS... little did I know she was training her Nintendog...earned me the stinkeye I tell you what!)

Thanks, Dawn! (I'm always happy to see you pop up.)

Hee, thanks! I'm avoiding work like whoa right now...

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

And keep right on subsidising, Jesse. I am very grateful.

Getting admitted...there is a lot of contradictory directive going around about me, and I'm just plain confused. There are many gurus stirring the pot, but I'm trying to minimise the number of waiters serving it.

I told them to keep that plan off the table until someone could tell me what they were going to do with me in. The last guy I saw agreed with this.

The other thing I need is an interim protocol: I need something inbetween my almost-daily allowed abortives (which work 1/4 of the time) and the ten (ineffective) rescue pills I'm allowed a month. No word back on that yet.

But I can't keep going to the ER like last night--I do seem to have front-loaded the emotional distress I usually save for home, but that just made it public instead.

Yeah, that makes some sense.

The coordination exhibited by the medical profession, or at least their ability to communicate that they are capable of it, seems to be lacking in examples here of late. Sigh.

Yay having a real!live!book! Made of paper and chemicals and ink and your lovely ideas and words! in your hands, Allyson.

We need to seriously track down Kat's understudy and make her adhere to the contract already. No fair going awol now.

Work is making me cranky. I keep making stupid little mistakes, largely due to poor instructions or explanations. So, partly my fault, partly larger.

Ann, that's a ferret.

Yay, Grace!

In less good medical news, the vet spoke to us tonight after Teddy got his fluids. They're now talking days.

It's at the point where they can't treat one problem without making another one worse. They cut his fluids from 250 daily to 150 to ease his anemia. But that'll make his kidney values worse.

We're continuing to do what we can for him. But it doesn't look like long now.

I'm glad I took several days off last week. I got to spend time with him and say everything to him that I wanted to say.

We visited the local pet cemetery over the weekend to make arrangements. Hubs wanted the casket designed for human babies and not animals. The cemetery folks said that'd take about a week. Looked then like we had time. Now I'm not so sure.

So far, I'm bearing up. Hubs is falling apart.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

I'm sorry for the crappy medical day, ita.

Glad Grace is out of surgery, Kat, and that it went okay.

Today, for me, failed to be anywhere near as irritating as it could have been.

Are we sure it's really Monday?

eta: I am so sorry, Fred.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

I'm so sorry, Fred. Give hugs to both Teddy and Hubs from me.
