Now, I can hold a note for a long time...actually I can hold a note forever. But eventually that's just noise. It's the change we're listening for. The note coming after, and the one after that. That's what makes it music.

"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

Well I think you can have layers or feathers, but you needn't have both.

I definitely have an enthusiasm for bed. I think I'll go back!

"You can't put a price on the joy of not giving a shit." -Zenkitty

The only reason I got out of bed this morning and went to work was so I could go home later and take a nap.

One of the things I hate most about work is that when I wake up I begin a countdown to when I can get back in bed.

This describes me the first few hours I am awake. Then I switch it to just going home.

I think I'm still in the few hours zone right now.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I am counting down to Saturday. Except I think I just agreed to go do a shotgun course in the early ayem. I'm not sure.

However, I think I can get home earlyish tonight, and perhaps tomorrow won't be movie night. Getting to sleep early is almost as good as waking up late.

I like the feathers idea of that camisole. Less so the price.

I just finished another bout of eBay vintage shopping. If I go to that wedding at the end of the month, I have a lovely dress that cost $8. Which is balanced out by the ones that you look at and think you've never seen before. But still! $8! Evening dress!

Okay, off to try and have another fairly pain-free day.

One of the things I hate most about work is that when I wake up I begin a countdown to when I can get back in bed.

I start the countdown to when I can be back home and sitting. Work is just a means to money so I can live. Occasionally it allows me to exercise the problem solving parts of my brain that I like, but more often it is just frustrating chaos that takes 8 hours of my day and a large % of my energy.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

What she said.

Exactly.

Wait, is this real-world child support, where the money goes to buy food for the kids, or MRA fantasyland child support where the women just buy Ferraris and cocaine? -Jessica

I woke up to find my face healing. It's not as sore anymore, and the left side has some smoothness back. The right side still feels a bit like a cheese grater went over it.

Yesterday work was INSANE, so I didn't get to make my plea to keep the mouse graphic on the cover. I did win the battle over "geekdom" and we're gonna figure out a new subtitle.

I think galleys are coming soon. I just got the copyedited version in email. Havent opened it yet. I really wish I could call in to work and deal with it today, but, you know, new job.

I went to Vroman's to sheepishly ask about doing a reading, which felt weird. The lady at the counter assured me that they love promoting local authors, and so I call the publicity folks and make the arrangements and not worry.

I really want to throw my book release party there. I'm unsure what to do for myself.
