A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

Is there consensus to stick a warning above the posting box a la the tagline box? i.e. Warning: 6000 character maximum length. Longer posts will be cropped mercilessly.

So that it says:

To post in Buffistas Building a Better Board, compose your text in the box below, then click "Post message."

A blank line starts a new paragraph. You may use HTML or quick-edit formatting. Warning: 6000 character maximum length. Longer posts will be cropped mercilessly.

You could make it three paragraphs, or put the warning on the end of the first paragraph, but I think it's a formatting thing.

with a gleam in my eye, and an almost airtight alibi

Hm. What about showing the warning and spitting back the post if it goes over 6K characters? That's more work, but would it be more helpful or just annoying?

We already do that for taglines so it wouldn't be hard to do. It would be work, but not too much work.

So that you get a 'your post was over the count, please edit it' page? (I don't think I've ever had a tagline go over, or I'd know what happens.) That would be easier (for my fic-posting purposes, at least).

Yeah, that was what I was imagining.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

Huh.

Strong doesn't appear to be on our list of accepted HTML.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Nope, it's not.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

Alright, my computer would only come half on and then froze and I had to click it off.

Now it is running in "safe mode". How do I get it back to normal? Grrrrr
