No other candidate is asking the hard questions, like "Did geophysicists assassinate Jim Henson?" or "Why is there hydrogen in America's water supply?" --defective yeti

Hey, I liked the last crop of new users a lot. We did really well for not having all of Salon and Table Talk screening people out for us. (I was just rereading some old threads... man, the random posters at TT were thoughtful people.) As long as we stay the kind of board cool new people would want to be a part of, we'll get cool new people. I think that means open arms, and carefully hiding the link to the Bureaucracy thread. (Not serious suggestions: apparently we're going to have a big convo about "Who Are We?" and I shouldn't build a land bridge to Buffista Island until then.)

So you know: following Msbelle's annoucement (Sunnydale Press #544) and contrary to what I said in post 3906 of this thread, "restrict the ability to read the Bureaucracy thread to members only" is not on the requests list.

I think that's all the action that needs to be taken following that vote.

You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

You are correct.

That makes a nice change.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Like Jon, I'm happy that she linked to the main page. It makes it sort of "in case you haven't heard of the Buffistas, here, go check 'em out," rather than "go troll for Tim, even though I've just told you what he said." An introduction, rather than a peephole.

A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

Exactly, Brenda. I was having trouble verbalizing it.

By the way -- Any comments on the new FAQ set-up?

Swouncing

I like it a lot - the "Mythology" part is easy to find, on the second line of the page (and I like it that it's linked in the "Latest additions" section, as well - oh, and I enjoy following your conversation with yourself in that section, too). And I think I've mentioned liking its content before, when it was still just edited. I didn't read it through this time, just skimmed, though.

Thanks for both you, Jon, and Lyra Jane, for building this.

Thrive to spite them

While we are talking about the FAQ--- I'm listed under my full name and I'd rather be listed under my current screen name can you guys change that?

A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

Will do, Ms. Skye. Is that under Contributors or somewhere else as well?

"The fact that we live at the bottom of a deep gravity well, on the surface of a gas covered planet going around a nuclear fireball 90 million miles away and think this to be normal is obviously some indication of how skewed our perspective tends to be."

Quick question. I want to switch hosting for my site to insiderhosting. It's just a personal site - email and pictures of Nora's cute nephew. Should I go through Kristen? How can I get in touch with her if so?
