No. You're missing the point. The design of the thing is functional. The plan is not to shoot you. The plan is to get the girl. If there's no girl, then the plan, well, is like the room.

I have a SourceForge project.

How geeky is that?

Okay, it's a tiny applet, but hey, I don't have time to make something big and it does something I wanted for my computer.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

JZ's news from her doctor visit today is that the baby is no longer transverse, but head-down. Which will probably change again before birth, but this her first attempt at a head stand and we applaud her cleverness.

Eh, possibly more than probably. Lillian was head down by 31 weeks and stayed there until 38 weeks, 3 days, when she exited the joint. If you're lucky, she'll have decided to settle in that way for the next 6-8 weeks. (Assuming they're still down with the whole labor plan for you guys, that is.)

Good news, cool.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

Cool, Gud! Also cool in a totally different way, Halloweenie!

Gud, I suggest now is the opportune time to tell your wife that if she wasn't home schooling the kids then y'all would have enough time to start a home business.

That is definitely something to think about as the business idea looms closer.

"Mister Spock is on his fanny, sir. Reports heavy damage."

So far, no, no mention of additional compensation.

I think there are subtle threats that can be employed on that front. For one thing, you're obviously a valuable commodity (inasmuch as they're kicking somebody else out because she wasn't expert-y enough). If they want to keep you, they gotta play nice. And if they (this evil big boss) don't give a shit about keeping you, well, don't stay kept.

I am personally of the opinion that the tone of an org is set at the top; and top-people who don't know that or don't care lose their best people and keep wondering why.

Gud, what are your other schooling options right now?

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Gud, that's...no, I can't type in l33t speak. My brain is fragile enough as it is. It's just geeky cool.

Msbelle, as much as I hate to side with the cat-hating guy, Hec's kinda right. Cohabitation, and with someone who it's a lot harder to make go away. Or want, really, even if solitude beckons.

That man was going to shank me. Over an omelette. Two eggs and a slice of government cheese. Is that what my life is worth?

That's what babysitters are for. A few hours of away from the kid.

eta: of course, that kinda has to be planned. Can't really have spur of the moment away from the kid time, or DCFS could come a-knockin'.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I explained a zipless fuck to a sixteen year old today. And not, lest you think I'm back to my cradle-robbing ways, a boy. A girl, who looked at me...well, not as funnily as you'd expect. I don't have family out here to traumatise, so it's a delight to find this young krav instructor who lets me treat her just like a sixteen-year old cousin of mine.

Which of course involves lots of discussion about her being gay. Which, it seems, she might not be. But why should I let that get in my way? Her mother's totally into the idea.
