Gunn: The final score can't be rigged. I don't care how many players you grease, that last shot always comes up a question mark. But here's the thing. You never know when you're taking it. It could be when you're duking it out with the Legion of Doom, or just crossing the street deciding where to have brunch. So you just treat it like it was up to you—the world in balance—'cause you never know when it is.

Oh, I also want to mention the irony that I was sitting here being impressed about the stuff that regular people know on Cash Cab, while this whole philosophy thing is going on here.

The status is NOT quo.

I work and I'm in school!!!

Very true. Wasn't meant to mean that the two are always impossible together, just that to do what I really want to do (go back for a PhD), I'd be talking 3-4 years of full-time school. Even if I got a full ride and a stipend, ain't no way I could afford to live alone in LA on that.

Yes, but you would get the much more impressive outfit. Something to think about.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

This is so timely! I am working on my next assignment, which involves professional ethics. So, um Bob Bob, I'm taking note too. Do you want me to attach your name to my notes, or can I pillage at will?

I have the PhD and didn't bother buying the robes, so, er, so much for the cool outfit. Whoops!

ION, I am just sitting here on my couch, and I'm sweating. I went out for a few hours and sought air conditioning but made the mistake of thinking it might have cooled off a bit and so came home. NSM.

(I totally want the cool robes.)

What is even happening?

I have read some Sider: his essay, "Hell and Vagueness" was good, and his new introduction to philosophy, Riddles of Existence: A Guided Tour of Metaphysics seems, from what I have read of it, to be solid and clear. There's no doubt he's a good philosopher, although I've heard that he's kind of a tool. I hope he doesn't read this board. Anyway, it's just hearsay. But it's true.
Hee. I knew him a little in college. He was a year ahead of me, but I was in Philosophy 101 with him. I was surprised he philosophized himself out of theism (maybe with "Hell and Vagueness" which I tried to read online, but was over my head).
