Very true. Wasn't meant to mean that the two are always impossible together, just that to do what I really want to do (go back for a PhD), I'd be talking 3-4 years of full-time school. Even if I got a full ride and a stipend, ain't no way I could afford to live alone in LA on that.

What is even happening?
I have read some Sider: his essay, "Hell and Vagueness" was good, and his new introduction to philosophy, Riddles of Existence: A Guided Tour of Metaphysics seems, from what I have read of it, to be solid and clear. There's no doubt he's a good philosopher, although I've heard that he's kind of a tool. I hope he doesn't read this board. Anyway, it's just hearsay. But it's true.Hee. I knew him a little in college. He was a year ahead of me, but I was in Philosophy 101 with him. I was surprised he philosophized himself out of theism (maybe with "Hell and Vagueness" which I tried to read online, but was over my head).
