You can't open the book of my life and jump in the middle. Like woman, I'm a mystery.

Literary Buffistas 3: Don't Parse the Blurb, Dear.

There's more to life than watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer! No. Really, there is! Honestly! Here's a place for Buffistas to come and discuss what it is they're reading, their favorite authors and poets. "Geez. Crack a book sometime."

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

ltc is right and she should say it. (Re: Katniss doesn’t need a guy at this stage of her life, if ever. No opinion on names.)

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Yeah, I’m kind of impressed with her opinion on this.

"Somewhere in this building is our talent." Toby Ziegler, my spirit animal

Dan Savage fans, where I learned about that mostly, think she could have both, natch. (Some at the same time, some not, because, you know, Savage Love.) Don't have an empirical opinion, but I do share your Impressedness, sj.

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

Maybe this has already been discussed, but I just read CINDERWICH by Cherie Priest and y’all should all read it if only for the character that is obviously based on Atropa.

Hee hee! All three of the "sisters" are based on Cherie's friends.

Woe to the fucking wicked.

So, I have a problem with Tapestry of Fate.

Wool doesn't burn, especially not without an accelerant (so the burning of the construct is not impossible) or REALLY high heat.

And that's ignoring Lab using "knit" for "incorporated into the tapestry", which it emphatically is not.

The more I learn, the more I realize how little I know.

What? You've never heard of spontaneous ovine combustion ?

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I have the audiobook but I haven’t listened to it yet. We shall find out how open minded I am willing to be on those points when I do. Definitely could bother me, but might not…

I’d be more forgiving of the spoiler font issues if Tapestry wasn’t in the title . You sort of need to go the extra mile to get related things right then.

I just finished Dionysus in Wisconsin. Did someone here recommend? I really enjoyed it. The world building was fun, and I liked the characters. I have a hold on the next book at the library.

ltc just finished reading Catching Fire, and she is shouting “what!?!” Over and over again. It’s kind of adorable.

I picked up Spread me by Sarah Gailey and The Tapestry of Fate at the library today. Oh, and I found out Mona Awad is going to be doing a signing near me in September. So, I grabbed a ticket for that.
