Spike: You pissed in the Big Man's Chair? That's fantastic! Gunn: Spike, can you please turn off that warm fuzzy? Spike: What, the Lorne thing? Worn off. I just think that's bloody fabulous.

Literary Buffistas 3: Don't Parse the Blurb, Dear.

There's more to life than watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer! No. Really, there is! Honestly! Here's a place for Buffistas to come and discuss what it is they're reading, their favorite authors and poets. "Geez. Crack a book sometime."

Such a mess. And I'm still astonished at the naivete of the people who went after her. Did they think she would simply slink away? Have they seen any of what she's done in the past in her other career?

Because books.

Right? If anyone is going to mobilize people absolutely clearheadedly, it's her.

You've got friends to have good times with. When you need to share the trauma of a badly-written book with someone, that's when you go to family.

I got a kick out of "So now you're talking to lawyers? Now? Okay, there will be a brief intermission while I squee about ice skating!"

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

Yeah- I was really confused. I am only a tangential follower, but I know that Courtney Milan has righteous justice on her side, and she will not back down. Like, I think she should be nominated to the Supreme Court if Ruth Bader Ginsberg needs a backup.

I haven't trusted science since I saw the film "Flubber."

Even if she had kept quiet, did they think the rest of the internet would just accept this?

Because books.

Excellent, clear, concise recap of the whole stinking mess: [link]

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

Even if she had kept quiet, did they think the rest of the internet would just accept this?

That sounds like the thinking at the NCTE that staff buyouts would be a good way to quietly purge the organization of dissenting voices and avoid scandal. Surely trans activists of color would feel their interests to be best served by not rocking the boat, right?

New president sounds real shady.

Amy, thanks so much-- that is the BEST recap. I couldn't understand what the stuff with Damon Suede was about, and now I get that he was filtering everything, going both directions. (AND lying about claiming to know who Chuck Tingle is! WTF.)
