Don't belong. Dangerous, like you. Can't be controlled. Can't be trusted. Everyone could just go on without me and not have to worry. People could be what they wanted to be. Could be with the people they wanted. Live simple. No secrets.

Literary Buffistas 3: Don't Parse the Blurb, Dear.

There's more to life than watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer! No. Really, there is! Honestly! Here's a place for Buffistas to come and discuss what it is they're reading, their favorite authors and poets. "Geez. Crack a book sometime."

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

I was trying to describe what pomegranates taste like, and I ran into a similar problem. I ended up with "kind of cranberry-ish."

(My typing has gone all to hell.)

I've created my Library Thing list, and it's only maybe 20% done, and all from what I remember off the top of my head. I know a lot of those classic titles are the wrong editions--I think I'll have to pull off all my books one shelf at a time and search for the specific edition by ISBN.

I stopped worrying about specific editions, though that offends the cataloger in my soul.

Connie, I was just looking at your list--you have Lost Christianities? I had that on ILL order from the library, but when I finally got down there to pick it up, they had sent it back a few days before. I'll have to order it again (when I finally return my veeeerrry overdue current ILL checkout on the Little Ice Age).

you have Lost Christianities?

Yep, I've developed a lust for knowledge about early Christianity, especially how it affects social beliefs--note the several books about gay history. I've been wondering where the kneejerk "God hates such-and-such!" comes from, so I'm digging into the past. The history of thought and attitude fascinates me.

"already on the kiss-cam with Karl Marx"-

Thank you, Gar. My betas have told me that my muse is Chandleria...I suppose sometimes it's true.

Madame, what you said to her was "squid", not "good morning".

As creepy-stalky as it sounds, I put all you Thingamabrarians I could find on my watch list! But at least I'm letting you know... :)

Connie--there's much talk about correct editions etc. in the talky sections--just wait until you discover... COMBINING. It is heaven, it is hell.

Katrina ate my liberry.

Ita, seriously?! Damn...

aka "The artist formerly known as Corwood Industries."

I added Library people, just as Lola did, but I wasn't planning to post about it, because I am CREEPY.

I'll have to stalk everybody myself, now! We can be classy stalkers!

I've been going through some of my bookshelves and adding to my list, and was told that I maxed out the freebie number of books (200), so since they had such a great cataloging system, I signed up for a lifetime membership (it was only $25--well, I think it was only $19, but their options go right to the "typical" level of $25, so I did that, instead, 'cause I like it so much).

I've still got a shelf to enter before I finish with the two bookshelves in my living room. Then, I get to go through my cookbook shelves and my nonfiction shelves, some of which titles have already been entered by memory. Finally will be the big group of books--the romances that I know total around 240 or so just by themselves.
