Death is your art. You make it with your hands day after day. That final gasp, that look of peace. And part of you is desperate to know: What's it like? Where does it lead you? And now you see, that's the secret. Not the punch you didn't throw or the kicks you didn't land. She really wanted it. Every Slayer has a death wish. Even you.

Literary Buffistas 3: Don't Parse the Blurb, Dear.

There's more to life than watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer! No. Really, there is! Honestly! Here's a place for Buffistas to come and discuss what it is they're reading, their favorite authors and poets. "Geez. Crack a book sometime."

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Wait till you get to the end.

I was getting choked up in preparation for the end.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Okay, I need some hivemind help. Elie Wiesel (I think!) has a quote about writing poetry that I want to reference. It's something about how poetry comes from suffering and then people tell the poet, oh, suffer again, so we can hear the exquisite sounds of your groans.

Something like that. But much better. Can anyone find it for me? My google-fu is failing.

I love that it looks like a mashup of Community and Hogwarts.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

Has anyone read "Fated" (an Alex Versus novel)? I'm in the middle of it right now and I think it is scratching a particular itch for me. I'm enjoying it, though I'm a bit lost in the world-building.

Are you all able to preorder Knut's book. I am getting not yet available, and I wondered if I was geoblocked.

Because books.

Deal in today's Publishers Lunch:

Author of the #1 NYT bestselling FALLEN series, Lauren Kate's TEARDROP trilogy, about a 17-year old Louisiana girl whose tears have the power to raise the lost continent of Atlantis.

That's ... a lot of tears, I would think.
