'Not Fade Away'
Fan Fiction: Writers, Readers, and Enablers
This thread is for fanfic recs, links, and discussion, but not for actual posting of fanfic.
Dani, I just ran into this link for Alias recs:
I haven't read anything there yet, but I thought I'd offer it as a possibility. Someone else may have an opinion on the quality.
Cross-posted from Bitchy Fic. Don't ask me to explain it, but I need somebody with fairly extensive knowledge of Batman/Catwoman comic canon to tell me how big a secret their affair was. Let your geek run free and give me cites too...I think it would be in character for this person to have known a lot of them, back in the day.
Someday I'll write that one. Not until I get my Baked Puppies but eventually. I'll also finish the Venice AU, which has a Trickyfish subplot coming up.
Mmmmm. Trickyfish.
ETA: And thank you. But I fear it's not going to live up to the original. Hence the hiding it.
Sure. But you'll post a link here, right?
I just read the One Hundred Days trilogy, by the way, which was lovely. Foxmonkey off of illuminations.nu gave it a rave review on her site.
Okay, this Buffy/Discworld crossover is pretty funny. I wouldn't say the prose will knock your shoes off, but the writer had an entertaining voice and certainly knows her Ankh-Morpork.
Besides, I'm having fun imagining Giles going drinking with The Librarian. And Oz out on the town with Angua.
When did F_W leave LJ, and why?
I don't remember the exact date, but I'd guess early this year. The journal was deleted of making fun of other LJ members. (I can't remember what the official terminology is.)
The LJ staff decided that f_w had violated the TOS, and the journal was deleted with letters to the moderators; the community was reborn under another name, which was deleted as well; when journalfen was created, f_w moved there with the permission of the creators, and it's assumed that journalfen was created as a place to house f_w with a style mimicking that of Livejournal. This all happened early this year, I think, around February.
There was also a brief span where it was on Blurty, before it was TOS'd there, too.
erika, did you want replies to your Batman/Catwoman request here? I haven't read much recently (the past few months), but as I recall there was no affair, per se, plus DC has a habit of revamping their histories every few years. Last I knew, the attraction is quite real in several issues, including a few pretty steamy kisses, and there's at least one issue of a non-Batman book (the revamped Justice League of America) that takes place in a villains' bar where some baddies in one corner are gossiping about Batman and Catwoman, in terms of "No, they aren't!" "Oh, yes, they so are, everybody knows they are!"
I think I have all these issues . . . somewhere. The Neil Comics Collection lives in several long comics storage boxes, plus some plastic bags of issues that haven't been properly catalogued. So I can't give you exact cites.
