Hm. So, the intent of the essay was to tar her back, the intended audience everyone who is already annoyed by her? I mean, I think the crazy person in question won't see the error of her ways, and anybody who is a slavish worshipper of a crazy person is probably also a hopeless case.
I don't know -- isn't arguing to convince people who already agree with you a waste of time? I can see getting something on the public record to the effect that no, Crazy Argument #1 is not going to go unchallenged, but after that, it's sort of wanking.
Pretty much. And it's total wank made for the record.
Crazy person's response, FWIW, was something like "you can't understand, because you're a Spike hater who defends RPF."
Only longer and more wanky.
but after that, it's sort of wanking.
Yeah, it is. But you know, after the way the orignal argument-maker wrote about and treated a subject I'm closely acquainted with, I was inclined to appreciate the wanking as it voiced frustrations and concerns I wasn't able to formulate after I read ginmar's post. Comparing me to a rapist? Not cool. Someone who defends my right to right and read what I choose with intelligent (if, okay, somewhat pretentious) points and arguments? Much appreciated.
Ah, fandom, where you get to have the same argument over and over and over...
Yo, this is why I'm keeping my head down and writing spy porn.
Not that I particularly need a reason to be so self-indulgent, and Jesus Christ, I just realized that it's going to up the fandom count to 17. We're definitely sailing aboard the HMS Crackwhore.
You're just jealous that I was starting to catch up.
(Get Weiss Laid! It ought to be an official challenge or something.)
You're just jealous that I was starting to catch up.
We were neck and neck for a bit there, weren't we? And I seem to recall not a little bit of egging-on.
I'm not sure if Get Weiss Laid is official or not, as I seem to remember Celli posting about it, but livejournal has been freaktastic all day.
I egg you on for my own selfish reasons. Get Weiss laid? Sure! Gay pirates? Fabulous idea! Wesley/Xander? Makes perfect sense!
Nineteen current fandoms I've written in.
Wesley/Xander? Makes perfect sense!
You betcha!
Nineteen current fandoms I've written in.
And to think, I looked at my website the other day, in the process of adding Smallville to the list, and went "nine fandoms? That's a lot".
I'm really just a big ol' ho.
